Release Norwood “ JJ Stewart Motors” Vipers Announce Coaching
Staff Team
president Joe Hawley announced on Friday that former NHL’er Dave Roche and
ex Petes captain Mike Martone will join Head Coach Brian Hayton to round out the
Vipers coaching staff. Roche who played 171 NHL games and 457 AHL games brings
a great deal of experience and knowledge to the staff. Dave returns to the rink
after taking a year to settle into his career with Freedom 55. Dave and his wife
Trisha also have 2 young children. With
the addition of Mike the Vipers have a guy who has won and been a leader at every
level including captaining the Petes, his university team and just last season
with the Missisippi Sea Wolves in the ECHL. Mike would love to play but is looking
to have shoulder surgery and will likely miss the better part of the season. However
his passion and intensity will be an asset to the Vipers organization.
The Vipers
open their training camp on Sept 10th in Norwood and all players
can register online at www.norwoodvipers.com or by calling
the Vipers office at 705-930-7362(SENA).
Seasons tickets are still on sale and have approached nearly
200 sold as of today. Contact Cal Clarke at the above number
to secure your seats for the upcoming season. The Vipers home
opener will be Oct 2nd vs the Kingston Aces.
